COURSE DESCRIPTION
This advanced course provides a comprehensive examination of chemical hazards encountered in environmental and occupational health settings. Students will explore the classification, toxicological properties, and health effects of chemical agents; the routes of exposure and principles of dose-response; the methods for assessing and monitoring chemical exposures; and the legal and regulatory frameworks governing chemical safety in the workplace and the environment. The course integrates principles of toxicology, industrial hygiene, and risk assessment to prepare students for safe and effective practice in environmental health, occupational safety, and public health. Emphasis is placed on the recognition, evaluation, and control of chemical hazards in diverse settings.

ORGANIZATION OF COURSE STUDIES
The course is organized into five study periods (typically 2 weeks each, though self-paced). Each period includes intensive reading of the assigned textbook, viewing of the supplementary video, and a short response paper or reflective assignment (500–1,000 words) reflecting on the material and its application. Students must contact the instructor for feedback after each period.
